 Meagan's Musings... A Blog
Tuesday, 02 March 2010

In a couple of days it'll be my baby's first birthday.

In a couple of days after that it'll be my firstborn's fourth birthday.  But he's not here to celebrate with us.  He was here for 9 weeks - a fleeting moment (which feels like only yesterday), but it was enough time  to fall deeply in love and it still hurts OH SO BAD.  I cry.  I'm spoilt.  There are heartbroken parents saying goodbye to their beautiful babies before they even take a breath.  I had nine weeks with mine.  Nine weeks of tumultuous roller coaster highs and low, low, lows... but nine weeks nevertheless.  Happy birthday for Saturday my treasured, sweet, tiny blonde Jayden-angel.  Mummy loves you always.

Happy birthday Joshua, my baby baby boy but so much bigger than your two big brothers.  Your giggle is just precious to wake up to.  The definition of cute is watching you push toy cars all over the house... ok so I'm just biased.  May your birthday be perfect, little one.  What a truly special 12 months it has been.  Mummy loves you always.

Post Script: Even though I have the living love every day of two wonderful boys, babies keep dying in the world and every one of them that I see/hear/read about pulls hard at my heart.  I can't stand that other parents go through this too.  Why do babies have to die?  How can that ever be part of "life"???

Yep, I guess I'm grieving again (still)....  it's ok, I'll be fine for the party in the weekend ;-)

So is this secondlife.com thing for real???  No, of course it's not, it's virtual reality, but what I mean is: do bored women (and men) at home/office/school actually really get into this sort of thing?  Until tonight I'd never heard of it...

How does any normal person seriously get the time???
I'll tell you what, I'm just glad I have a website to keep me out of trouble ;-)

....  Going in to check your children late at night and seeing their precious arms curled around their favourite soft toy.

Some days the lovable moments barely seem to exist, but it takes only one of them to soothe away all of your weariness.

are you a believer?

There are believers and there are not.

It has always been my belief that there is something more after we die.  And that it is saddest for those left behind, whereas the spirit goes on to party :-)  Or something similar.  I believe souls linger for a while in heaven and then when the time is right they enter a specially chosen baby about to be born, ready to live their 'next life'.  Of course, each to their own and all that.

The idea that the spirits of those we love watch over us after they're gone became even more important to me after Jayden died.  I desperately needed to cling on to the hope that he was still somewhere.  And over the months and years he has proven this by sending me the most amazing signs.

Most recently (just the other day in fact), I walked into a gift shop at a local shopping centre.  At the doorway, to my right, was a stand of little dinosaur piggy banks for kids.  Personalised - of course.  The very first one I laid eyes on was purple and named "Jaydenosaurus" - of course!  But that's not all.  My eyes travelled from there directly up to the sign on top of the stand and focused on a photograph of one of the piggy banks.  The name on it was "Meganosaurus" (hey, that's me).  True story.

Sure, it could have been a coincidence.  But I learnt a long time ago there are no such things as coincidences.

So.....

Did I capture anyone's ("Anyone?  Anyone?  Anyone??" attention with my Baby Astrology subject title?

Yes?  Ok, good!  I'm guessing then, that you are someone small's Mummy (or Daddy, but highly unlikely - are there any males that actually believe in star signs and all that heavenly stuff?), Grandma, Nana, Aunty, Godmother or a close friend of the small one's family!   Hey well, they don't call me Einstein for nothing ;-)

Anyway.... yes, it's true!  We have now added Baby Astrology reports to our ever-expanding selection of Unique Keepsakes!  Wonder no longer about the as-yet undiscovered personality traits of the tiny little bundle in your arms.  Worried about your toddler who's turned three and still throwing tantrums?  Is s/he going to continue this behaviour into their thirties??  These astrology reports for babies will uncover such topics and plenty more.  What a truly personalised gift for a new baby, christening or birthday!  Click here for more info.

And coming soon to the Baby Star Signs category, for those that are curious but not that into it, free baby zodiac signs and their meanings...  a generalised idea of the way your beautiful little individual will show themselves to the outside word!

Well lovely people, my dinner has been served (I know, I'm lucky!)....
Until next time, take care.

... Away we go again!!

Here's to a Happy New Year to you all!  I know there are lots of us who couldn't wait for 2009 to be over, it was a difficult year in many respects and I hope 2010 holds the key to put some laughter and love back in your hearts.  For those who did have a wonderful 12 months just gone, long may the sparkles continue!

January will be an interesting month in this house; yesterday we waved goodbye to Supernan and Poppa as they left on a Jet Plane back to their (quiet and peaceful) life in NZ.   The bedrooms here are over-flowing with clutter - er, toys - as the dust cloud finally settles after the Christmas activity (the dust cloud that will probably still be settled on the clutter two months down the track) and here am I, forced back into the full-time role of Motherhood.  At least for a few more weeks and then the Littlest One will be starting day care once a week.   Eeeeek!!  Am I ready to have one day of the week all to myself??  Is HE ready to be left with a room full of strangers for 8 hours?  Stay tuned....

Ok, now to the interesting stuff:
The much-promised Personalised Jewellery additions are almost complete!   Checkout the gorgeous sterling silver
Mother Bangles, Mother-Child Pendant and the BRAND new Unidos Family Pendant!  Still to come very very soon is the Daughter/Son Pendant and a classic personalised necklace for Dad - we absolutely could not forget about men's keepsake jewellery!

Our new additions to the personalised jewellery range!

I'm also excited to announce that coming very soon are Child Astrology Reports!  The perfect baby gift for any new parent... who doesn't want to know what personality traits that tiny little bundle will possess in years to come?

And with that, I must get to work.
Take care, wishing you a great start to the New Year...

Oh.My.Goodness.

How do you seriously find time to Blog?  I'm definitely gonna have to take a refresher in Time Management during the New Year at some stage.  Oh yeah, and who's going to pay me to do it???

So.  December is heavily upon us (as if you hadn't noticed) and the day-to-day atmosphere of Life is running amok with Christmas, of course.  Weekends this month were booked up ages in advance with all the Christmas parties, get-togethers and family gatherings, as they are at this time every year.  With one minor difference: this year it's all about the kids, not me!!!  Gone are the days of Office Christmas Drinks, the Work Christmas Dinner, the Social Club Christmas BBQ, hot Summer evenings spent spreading Festive Cheer in local clubs and pubs.  This year it's Kiddy Parties, Family BBQ's and the Daycare Christmas Concert.  I must confess, I'm quite looking forward to it - will be interesting to see my son sing Christmas Carols considering he's only just started to expand his vocab beyond "Mum" and "no".  But you can bet, my heart will swell with pride and I'll tear up at the sight of just seeing him standing there with all his new buddies.  And looking so grown up.  "That's my little boy!" I'll say.  I knew this day had to come soon.

Then someone pinches me and I wake up.

Ok, now to the latest website biz:
No fancy intro (I should be in bed), just the basics - stunning sterling silver Mother Bangles!!  Not even any preview pic tonight, you'll just have to see for yourselves, but I promise you won't be disappointed with these amazing new additions to our Mother Jewellery section!

Coming soon, we'll add to our Mother Jewellery range with several other exquisite, unique personalised jewellery items including a mother child pendant and a pendant for Dads!!

Look forward to seeing you soon and wishing you happy holidays,
x Meagan x

Alright, so I've said it before, but I will repeat: I'm a lame blogger!  How did I ever write thousands of diary entries in my teenage years and throughout my twenties??  I know..... I was without children to have to put first.  In those days, nothing mattered much except ME!  What was that like?  I cannot recall.... so long ago..............   I shudder to think what lies ahead during their teenage years :-)

SO.  What's been happening around here?  First off, silk and  designer sterling silver charm necklaces from belle & peace.  Just gorgeous and handmade in Sydney!  Pick up a couple for your beautiful mum, sister, daughter or bestie.  The ideal cute gift for Christmas - priced from only $29!

To all of you who've been patiently waiting (and I know there are a few of you), our Baby Loss Poems section will be going live any day now - please just hang in some more and I promise to help you with your journey of healing and hope.  If you don't feel like checking back, please sign up to our mailing list and you'll notified as soon as the Baby Loss Poems page is ready for viewing.

And what's coming soon?   I'm so excited to announce: MORE stunning personalised jewellery including oh so sweet sterling silver engraved bracelets and an exquisite range of necklaces and pendants to celebrate Mums, Dads, brothers, sisters, grandparents, babies.... absolutely anyone in your family.  Totally custom engraved with your words.  Go on, join the mailing list to find out more!

And with that, I bid you Sweet Dreams.
